Jordan’s primary practice area is construction litigation, which primarily includes the representation of developers, homeowners, contractors, architects and engineers. Jordan is well-versed in defect claims, payment claims and liens, surety bond claims, delay claims, contract disputes, business disputes and many other types of construction-related cases. Jordan also drafts and negotiates construction contracts on a daily basis and offers day-to-day legal consulting services to construction-industry clients in need of legal assistance and periodic advice. Jordan’s experience includes litigation and arbitration of construction claims related to projects of every size. In addition to construction law, Jordan serves as general counsel and special counsel to a growing number of condominiums and HOA’s, and also handles a wide variety of commercial, real estate and business litigation disputes.

Qualifications and Experience

Jordan was born and raised in Miami, Florida, and graduated from Florida State University Law School. He has been a litigation attorney since 2008.

The first decade of his career was spent at a reputable, mid-sized construction litigation firm in Coral Gables.

In July, 2018, Jordan, along with Rob Streit, founded SKS Legal Group, a boutique firm specializing in construction law, contracts, commercial litigation, condominium law, and labor and employment law.

As a Board Certified Specialist in Construction Law, Jordan has expertise with respect to: Florida’s Construction Lien Law (chapter 713, Fla.Stat.), private and public construction contracts (negotiation, preparation, bidding, award and administration), design professional liability (architects, engineers, surveyors, etc.), pre-suit requirements for construction claims (Chapter 558, Fla.Stat.), collection and judgment enforcement procedures, prompt pay procedures (both private and public), licensing and regulation of contractors and design professionals, construction lending, suretyship, payment and performance bonds, insurance on construction projects, and construction-related theories of recovery, defenses and damages.

In addition to construction law, Jordan represents HOA and Condominiums as general counsel to assist with operational issues, litigation of HOA and Condo disputes, enforcement of governing documents, drafting and amendment of governing documents and general consulting with board members and management companies.

Jordan also regularly prepares and files trademarks and copyrights with the USPTO.
